| What is the APSA/CWA? The APSA/CWA (Local 6001 of the Communications Workers of America), is a national organization for passenger service and reservations agents at American Airlines. Having our own leaders and members from airports and reservations centers across the country has enabled us to strengthen and deepen the level of support we need to be able to build a new organizing committee and file for another union election. Since our last election members, agents from American Airlines, have worked on issues in the airline industry that affect us and members have had access to representation when needed on the job. The APSA/CWA Local 6001 is also the organizing office for American Airlines and American Eagle agents seeking a voice on the job and a legally binding contract. We are currently updating agents information by having all agents, who haven't already done so, fill out a union interest card. This will allow us to ensure our records are up to date as we work toward filing for our next union election. If you haven't recently filled out a union interest card, you may do so by clicking on the Union Interest Card link to the left. We are currently building a structure and committees at locations across the system to be sure we can win our next union election. If you wish to be involved to help move this process along and to be able to file for a union election with the National Mediation Board, click on Contact Us to the left and call, or email us. The most frequently asked question these days is; When will be having another union election? The answer to this question is; When our structure and committees are in place at each location and we have a majority support in order to win. At locations where we are currently assessing our support levels and building our committees, we have an overwhelming level of support. If your station is not on board yet and wish to get involved, contact us. One does not have to be a member of Local 6001 to help organize a union at your location. |
